If an age group section has fewer than 9 players, the organisers may merge two or three sections to ensure a competitive experience with 5 quality games for all participants. 

When a section has 10 or more players, prize money will be awarded in addition to trophies and medals. Players with the same score will share the prize money. Tiebreaks will be used only to determine the trophy winners. 

To participate in ECF rated tournaments, all players must hold a membership level of Silver or above. If your membership level falls below Silver, you will need to pay a "pay to play fee" of £12.

Upon registering and completing the online form while ensuring the correct entry fee payment is made to our account, your name will be added to the entrants list within 24 hours. Failure to pay the correct entry fee will result in exclusion from round 1 pairings. 

 You have the option to transfer your entry fee to the next congress. However, if you prefer a refund, please note that an admin charge of £5 will be deducted from the fee paid. 

 If you're unable to participate in certain rounds of the congress, you have the option to request a half-point score and skip those rounds (except for the last round). Each player is allowed only one half-point bye in a single congress.
