Scores required in Qualifying Events
U8 - 4 points or more out of 6
U10 Major - 4.5 points or more out of 6
U10 Minor - 3.5 points or 4 points out of 6
U12 Major - 4.5 points or more out of 6
U12 Minor - 3.5 points or 4 points out of 6

The organizers will not assume responsibility for any loss, theft, or accidents involving competitors or other visitors at the venue, car park, or surrounding areas. Parents are responsible for their children at all times and in all locations during the tournament. The tournament organizers and their assistants cannot act as guardians or take responsibility for the actions of attendees or anyone who may impact those participating in the tournament.
The organisers reserve the right to merge sections in the event of a section receiving insufficient entries.
Ties: Cash prizes will be shared. If there is a tie for a a trophy for the top boy and top girl in each age group section, it will be decided by sum of progressive scores.
Age limit sections: Prizes for all players scoring over 50%. Certificates for all players.
Small prizes can be collected as your last game is finished, trophies and cash prizes as soon as possible after the end of Round 6.
The rating-limited sections are primarily designed for older juniors or adults but are open to any participant whose rating falls below the specified limit.

The London Junior Chess Championships originated in 1924 as the London Boys Championship. The championships are organised by The London Junior Chess Championship Charitable Trust, registered charity number 1129010. Titles are awarded for seven age groups, Under 8, Under 10, Under 12, Under 14, Under 16, Under 18 and Under 21. To play in the Under 8, Under 10 or Under 12 Finals you must first qualify, either via a qualifying tournament or by r. Qualification is not required for the older age groups.
Dates for the 2023 Finals:
16-17 December for U10 & U14
28-30 December for U12 & U16/18/21
29-30 December for U8
